3 Days, 3 Quotes Tag

Thanks, iScriblr for introducing me to your quote sharing game- 3 Days, 3 Quotes Tag’. Its fun, and I am loving it. However, I am bending the rules a bit as I am too impatient to wait for three long days to share my favourite lines. Hence, I am going to share them all at once. So here goes the list of my favourite quotes of all time.

-Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Well, no one could have explained it better. The reason why some of us stay with people who disrespect us or treat us badly. When you think low of yourself, you are likely to attract lying, ghosting, mind games and a depressing barrage of manipulative behaviour symptoms in the name of love/relationship. Self-love is important. Realising your worth is important. Learning to not allow anyone to disrespect you or undermine you is important. Don’t tolerate or settle for anything less than you think you deserve. Love yourself!

bed-linen-1149842_1280“Tonight I can write the saddest lines.
I loved her, and sometimes she loved me too.”

-Pablo Neruda, Tonight I can write the saddest lines(Poem)

One of my favourite lines by Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. How beautifully he has described pain and longing for his beloved in these lines. Unrequited love hurts. Rejection hurts. Betrayal hurts. Love that has not been reciprocated openly or not been fully understood by one’s beloved surely hurts a great deal. But, the lines above talk about a different kind of heartache altogether, which can be summarised as the saddest and the most brutal one ever.

still-life-school-retro-ink-159618“No subject is terrible if the story is true, if the prose is clean and honest, and if it affirms courage and grace under pressure.”

-Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast

This is self-explanatory. I am sure all my writer friends will agree with this. Honesty, grace, and courage are the three most important attributes we all wish to possess. Why should literature be any different?

Now as the rule suggests, I must tag three people to take this interesting game forward: thinkinkadia, Whitneyibeblog, Eugenia

Silks and Legacies

“See, how beautiful you look in that colour,” the old woman said trying to get the young lady’s attention. “I am your daughter. Therefore, it is obvious that you’d find me beautiful even when I am dressed in tattered clothes, right?” the young woman brushes off the compliment with a smile on her face. Her… Continue reading Silks and Legacies
