Frankly, at this point, I am not even sure what bothers me more.

Your inability to treat me better or my weakness for not letting you go sooner.

However, truth be told, these harrowing questions have long ceased to have any effect on me.

For I know, you did what you were always supposed to do.

And honestly, none of this makes any sense as I am happy and content, just the way I was meant to be.

    1. Thanks, Prakhar for the kind words. The fact is, I suck at poetry πŸ˜› . I can never crack the rhyme and meter ratio. And these past few days, I seem to have hit writer’s block too…so just scribbling away and waiting for the muse to strike again πŸ™‚

  1. Well written, thanks for sharing… writing and poetry are something that comes from within, cannot start and turn off at your will like a light switch… πŸ™‚

β€œWhen you are truly inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project… your mind transcends its limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world! Then those dormant forces, faculties and talents inside you become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” Patanjali β€œ

    1. Thank you for reading and responding. You are absolutely right, writing comes from within and can’t be forced; there are days when I can’t stop scribbling away my thoughts. But, sadly, the opposite also happens sometimes when I just struggle to put down anything sensible on paper.

      1. I believe it is generally referred to as “writers block”… πŸ™‚ happens to everyone and when it does, sometimes it’s best to put the pen down for a bit and walk away and smell the roses, go shopping, climb a mountain, jump out of a plane (preferably with a parachute)…. πŸ™‚

      2. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚jump out of a plane- the best advice to cure writer’s block I’ve received so far 😎. Yes, I agree distractions do help sometimes.

  2. sometimes, being lucid, while writing poetry, intrigues the reader, for then it’s deep. it plays w our mind. adding flavors to it, can either make one smile, or upset. it depends! i like this, anyway! πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks for the response, Srijjan and yes absolutely. But for the ones who can never strike the right balance between rhyme and meter (like me ;)), little metaphors and similes scattered here and there (befitting the context of course, can’t risk being too vague) can always make a delightful read.

      1. well, it seems as if you’re trying too much! let your emotions write for you, while your eyes are closed! and you can never be too vague.

      2. well, i felt a sense of innocence in your words, and also you seem to be romantic. i think you’d write lovely romance! when can i read something like that?

      3. Bingo! I am romantic. The saccharine-dipped, mushy, doused with honey kinda romantic. But, when it comes to writing romantic stuff, the hidden sarcastic beast in me awakens and ruins the mood. However, I am hopeful that in future I’ll be able to tame this wild beast and allow the romantic soul in me dominate my pen.

      4. i know you’re! i could feel it and it was also visible in your eyes! maybe someday we can write something together on this genre! i’m a lil romantic! i won’t mind πŸ™‚

      5. Seems like a plan. We can do that. Now, that I know that your heart also bleeds romance like pumping blood. I can see a common ground for creating some invaluable literature there.

      6. i hope your husband won’t mind πŸ˜›
        and sure! someday πŸ™‚
but i’ll wait for the one, you write on your own first! πŸ™‚
